Chapter Leader - Jennifer

Jennifer is a native of the Brantford community. She is a parent of a child with multiple disabilities and has extensive experience with manoeuvring through the maze of services available to families, children and youth. She knows first hand how confusing and frustrating it can be to find the right services for your child.

Her goal is to help parents through the maze of services and become powerful advocates for their children.

Jennifer is very passionate about disability rights, including the development of a blog and Facebook page that focuses on disability issues. They serve as a growing avenue for building awareness around disability issues and rights.  She has a BA in Disability Studies, which has given her an interesting perspective and provides theoretical background to her passion.

She understands the role that collaboration, communication and leadership play in the role of effectively bringing about positive changes for families.

Resources Guide

Parents for Children's Mental Health believe that children, youth, and their families suffering from mental health challenges deserve our extreme respect and assurance.  We are dedicated to improving the lives of these families.

WE LINK families to important networks within their communities to ensure they get the care they need and the support of families who can relate and support them.

WE UNDERSTAND the issues around child and youth mental health challenges and the stigma that prevents the work and conversations that need to happen.

WE HELP communities and families access important resources so they can begin their journey of healing. family is coming through this with the support of PCMH and its members. I have drawn much of my strength from posts I read on this page every day. … Member, PCMH
