** COVID 19 UPDATE** Parents for Children’s Mental Health is working to keep our volunteers and staff healthy during the COVID—19 pandemic and we continue to monitor the rapidly changing developments.  Our support groups continue to be closed; however, we know that in times like these we still need to be able to access our support systems.  To connect with one of our family peer support volunteers please email: support@pcmh.ca.  Please note this is a volunteer, peer lead support email.  We DO NOT provide crisis or clinical services of any kind.  Our emails will be answered within 48 hours. If you, or someone you love is at immediate risk please contact your local emergency services or dial 911.

COVID-19 is impacting people in various ways and it is understandable that during times like these many people are feeling worried, anxious, overwhelmed, and this is further complicated by many of the resources we rely on being closed during this pandemic.

We want to remind you that there are still options to access supports for your and/or your children.
Your local crisis line: 519-433-0334
Kids Help Phone 1-800-668-6868

Chapter Leader Vicki, Bio:  Vicki is a Child and Youth Worker who has worked with children, youth and families for 18 years as a support and advocate. She has lived experience as a parent and within her family of origin and believes in the framework that everyone has mental health but some need extra support for their well-being. She hopes to spread this view to battle stigma.

Vicki has experienced navigating the current children’s mental health system and knows that it can be frustrating and unclear but believes that there is hope in advocacy and peer support. She believes that peer support amongst parents/caregivers is crucial for families to feel understood in a world of systems that are complex so that our children/youth achieve bright futures. Vicki has participated on various councils and committees related to children/youth mental health, such as the Strategic Advisory Council for the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health to build a network of peer support in London in hopes of empowering parents/caregivers who are supporting children/youth.
