Chapter Leader Vicki, Bio:  Vicki is a Child and Youth Worker who has worked with children, youth and families for 18 years as a support and advocate. She has lived experience as a parent and within her family of origin and believes in the framework that everyone has mental health but some need extra support for their well-being. She hopes to spread this view to battle stigma.

Vicki has experienced navigating the current children’s mental health system and knows that it can be frustrating and unclear but believes that there is hope in advocacy and peer support. She believes that peer support amongst parents/caregivers is crucial for families to feel understood in a world of systems that are complex so that our children/youth achieve bright futures. Vicki currently participates on the Strategic Advisory Council for the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Children and Youth Mental Health and wants to build a network of peer support in London in hopes of empowering parents/caregivers who are supporting children/youth

Parents for Children's Mental Health believe that children, youth, and their families suffering from mental health challenges deserve our extreme respect and assurance.  We are dedicated to improving the lives of these families.

WE LINK families to important networks within their communities to ensure they get the care they need and the support of families who can relate and support them.

WE UNDERSTAND the issues around child and youth mental health challenges and the stigma that prevents the work and conversations that need to happen.

WE HELP communities and families access important resources so they can begin their journey of healing. family is coming through this with the support of PCMH and its members. I have drawn much of my strength from posts I read on this page every day. … Member, PCMH
