PCMH Privacy Policy

Our values statement says Parents for Children’s Mental Health (PCMH) respects the dignity and privacy of each individual and group.  Our privacy policy seeks to support that statement.

Basic Principles

  • Information given to PCMH is confidential
  • Personal information is collected only with written permission
  • Information is used only for the purpose for which it is collected.
  • Information is kept as secure as possible.

Contact Information

PCMH collects personal information as a part of membership database.  This information is used only for the purposes for which it has been collected and is collected only with the  permission of the person.  This contact information from e-mail, phone or in person is kept in a secure location.

Participants in our events and supporters may, unless they withdraw permission, be added to a list for notification of our future events, mailing of newsletter and for information on public education.  This information will not be shared with other groups or organizations.

Contact information for workshops is kept in a secure location and used only to inform of future events, mailing of newsletter and for information on public education.  This information will not be shared with other groups or organizations without the explicit permission in print from the workshop participant.

Telephone contact information will not be recorded, kept or disclosed without the explicit   permission of the person involved.

Media contact information is kept at the request of and with permission of the contact.

Financial Information from donations and other revenue generating projects will be kept confidential.

Financial records are only kept as long as business or legal requirements specify.  PCMH does not enter into contracts with third party agencies which share information with other groups or sell lists.

Tax receipt database has name, address, amount, tax receipt number.  Cheque information is kept for 7 years required for business law and auditing.

Quilt of Honour

PCMH collects personal information as a part of the Quilt of Honour.  This information is used only for the purposes for which it has been collected and is collected only with the written permission of the person involved or their family (in case of a deceased child).  The level of disclosure is chosen by the person requesting to be part of the Quilt of Honour.

Website Use

We do not use cookies.

Our service provider collects statistical information on site use for us using logs on their Web server to log URL requests.  They use a loganalyser (livestats) to analyze data and compile the statistics.  The only information that is logged is the IP from which the requests are made.

E-mail requests are not received by secure socket (SSL) transaction.  When received, we keep all information confidential as detailed above for contact information.

Links on our sites may lead to sites outside of our organization which may have different privacy policies.  We do not take responsibility for the privacy practices of other organizations, but it should be clear that you are leaving our site when using these links.  You may need to read the privacy statements on those sites to ensure that it matches your preferences.

This site uses the Platform Privacy Preferences (P3P) standard to enable users to determine easily what our privacy policy is regarding Web information.  This program works with the privacy preferences in recent versions of some browsers and will automatically notify the users of the level of privacy protection we offer.

Internal Information

Information about staff, volunteers, board members is kept in secure environments and is not shared outside of the administrative staff or the Board President.

Feedback

Quotes/feedback in regards to workshops/presentations are not credited to the author without the explicit permission of the person responsible for said quotes, etc.
