Patti Hannivan- Chapter Leader

For Patti, the issues surrounding mental health are ones she is very familiar with. Patti grew up experiencing the generational impact within her own family, and in more recent years, the impact on her daughter who at age 15 became an at risk youth as the result of her inability to cope with the murder of her friend.

As a professional artist and business owner, Patti has used her skills on community heritage projects to create and initiate work training programs for youth helping to give them the working skills to improve their future opportunities. She added to her credentials the title of Child and Youth Care Worker and has been working in schools and residential settings, counseling youth and their families.  She is a member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counselors.

Parents for Children's Mental Health believe that children, youth, and their families suffering from mental health challenges deserve our extreme respect and assurance.  We are dedicated to improving the lives of these families.

WE LINK families to important networks within their communities to ensure they get the care they need and the support of families who can relate and support them.

WE UNDERSTAND the issues around child and youth mental health challenges and the stigma that prevents the work and conversations that need to happen.

WE HELP communities and families access important resources so they can begin their journey of healing.

I am amazed at the people willing to share. Wish had this site when my daughter was lot younger … Member, Facebook
