Dave and Peggy's Bio

Dave and Peggy are the loving parents of 2 children in Howick Township, ON. Their oldest struggles with a variety of serious mental health challenges.

Over the past 3 years they have navigated and worked with many different levels and branches of the mental health system across the province as they advocated for their child. Peggy and Dave identified the lack of a local support group for parents of children with mental health disorders, which lead to becoming PCMH group leaders in Huron/Perth County.

Peggy and Dave share a passion for helping families navigate the system, listening to their journeys and advocating for their children. Both Peggy and Dave have their Mental Health First Aide Certificate and Dave has his ASIST Certificate.

Parents for Children's Mental Health believe that children, youth, and their families suffering from mental health challenges deserve our extreme respect and assurance.  We are dedicated to improving the lives of these families.

WE LINK families to important networks within their communities to ensure they get the care they need and the support of families who can relate and support them.

WE UNDERSTAND the issues around child and youth mental health challenges and the stigma that prevents the work and conversations that need to happen.

WE HELP communities and families access important resources so they can begin their journey of healing.

I just wanted to say how pleased I am at the fact that PCMH is extending it's communication to the web. The increases to the website and the monthly Web Newsletter are helping … Member, Windsor
