Registration is now open for our September 13th/14th Summit!
Each year PCMH hosts a retreat for families to bring us together for support, networking, and also provide educational workshops on topics that help us in our day to day lives, as well as in the lives we lead as advocates for our children, and contributing to positive change in the way services are provided.
This year, our focus is transformation.
"Transformation means literally going beyond your form". Wayne Dyer
Currently, that is more true than it has ever been for our sectors that deliver child and youth mental health services, our role and development as an organization, and our role and responsibilities as families to have a positive impact on the transformation.
We are once again excited to offer information, workshops, and consultations that will indeed be transformative.
This year we will be hosting our Summit at the Toronto Congress Centre,650 Dixon Road, Toronto
Accommodations will be offered at Radisson Hotel Toronto Airport, 640 Dixon Road, Toronto
KEY NOTE ADDRESS
This year we welcome Minister of Child and Youth Services, Teresa Piruzza for our keynote address Friday, September 13th, 2013.
Teresa Piruzza represents the riding of Windsor West. She was appointed Minister of Children and Youth Services in February 2013, and Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues in July 2013.
Minister Piruzza has dedicated her life to helping Windsor families thrive and succeed. Before being elected MPP in 2011, she was Executive Director of Employment and Social Services for the City of Windsor, helping local residents find work. She was a municipal representative with the Windsor-Essex Local Immigration Partnership Council and a member of Pathway to Potential - an organization dedicated to raising awareness about poverty and how it can be reduced. She is also a founding member of Workforce WindsorEssex, an organization dedicated to supporting a strong, sustainable economy for the Windsor region.
Minister Piruzza has an MBA from the University of Windsor, a BA in International Relations and a Masters Certificate in Municipal Management. She lives in Windsor with her husband, John, and their two young boys.
Our Saturday agenda also features consultation with the team from the Ministry of Child and Youth Services ~ Moving on Mental Health: A system that makes sense for children and youth. Families will be invited to contribute to the work that is being done to transform the way that child and youth mental health services are delivered, and they want to hear from us what it takes to have a "system that makes sense".
